Shingle Condition and Age
How old is your roof? We can tell.
The first step is to closely inspect the shingles. Three tab shingles typically last 20 years and architectural shingles should last as long as 25-30 years. As a Select ShingleMaster, we assess the age and the remaining life of the shingle. We look for shingle granules in your gutters, buckling, lifting, or curling. We then provide you with a root cause of any issues we may see.
Flashing and Collars
The first place we look.
The first place we go are the pipe collars. Many roofers don’t tell their customers they need to replace or re-caulk their pipe collars (or boots) every 8 to 10 years. We assess all your flashings and look for separation, gaps, cracks and dried caulking. Give us a call and Walker Roofing will do a complete “tune up” inspection.
Moss, Algae, and Mold
It May Not Be as Bad as You Think.
In Maine, we see a lot of moss, algae and mold on roofs. This is typically an indication of excessive shade and lack of drying. Sometimes it’s serious. More often than not, it’s treatable. We can help discern the difference.
Storm Damage
When the wind blows, Walker Roofing is here.
Storm damage is often self-evident. Other times it is not. Missing shingles can easily allow water to penetrate into the attic. The important thing is to not wait if you think you may have damage. Call us today.
